Commvault® software provides various methods for controlling data protection, recovery and administrative jobs. These methods control network utilization, system backup windows, job activity blackout periods, and system resource usage.
Managing Active Jobs
The Job Controller manages all active jobs within the CommCell® environment. Regardless of which method is used to initiate a job (schedule, on demand, or script), the job appears in the Job Controller in the CommCell® console. The Job Controller is the most effective tool within the CommCell console for managing and troubleshooting active jobs.
Common actions that are conducted from the Job Controller:

To change a job’s status
1 - Right-click on the job.
2 - Jobs can be suspended, resumed or killed.
3 - Type an explanation if needed in the Reason field and click Yes to confirm to kill the job.
To control the job state of multiple jobs
1 - Use Shift or CTRL keys to select multiple job.
2 - Right-click and select Suspend, Resume or Kill.
3 - Type an explanation if needed in the Reason field and click Yes to confirm to kill the job.
To control multiple job activity
1 - Right-click in the job controller and select Multi-Job Control.
2 - Selection of all jobs or specific jobs.
3 - Jobs can be suspended, resumed or killed.
To apply job filters
1 - Apply an existing filter or ...
2 - …add, delete or edit a filter.
3 - Give a name to the filter rule.
4 - Create one or many rules and add to the list.
5 - Specify if it is required to meet ALL or ANY of the rules created above.
