Configure Software Cache and Updates

Commvault follows a quarterly schedule for major service pack releases. Service packs are available initially for manual download from the Maintenance Advantage website. They are then moved to auto-update via the Commvault software update cache process approximately two weeks after initial availability. Service packs should be deployed when available.

Additional hotfixes may follow the release of a service pack to address critical issues. The hotfixes should also be applied as soon as they are available. Subsequently, if a new service pack or hotfix conflicts with an older installed hotfix, the installation process removes them automatically.
By default, the system creates automatic schedules that download and install updates on Commvault^® servers, as well as on clients. These schedules can be modified as desired.

5 - Select if you want to download the update from the Internet, or to copy it from a local copy that was manually downloaded.

6 - Select the updates to download:

Latest service pack –Download the latest service pack and latest hotfixes.

Latest Hotfixes for the installed service pack – Does not download any service pack but only hotfixes for the currently installed service pack.

Service pack and hotfixes – Allows to select a service pack and hotfix version to install.

7 - Slide the bar for System Created Download Software to create as a scheduled task.

8 - Select any platform for which packages and updates are required.
