VM Recovery Plug-In for VMware vSphere Client

The Commvault VM Recovery Plug-in can be integrated to the VMware vSphere client, which is the tool provided to VM administrators to manage virtualized environments. It provides a new 'backup' tab in the client that gives the users information and tools to the users to browse data and restore VMs without the need to access the CommCell® console.

Prerequisites to the VM Recovery Plug-In deployment:

  • The Web Server and Web Console must be deployed in the Commvault® environment.
  • The VSA agent must be configured in the Commvault environment, for VM level recovery.
  • The File System agent must be configured in the Commvault environment, for VM file recovery.




To configure the VM Recovery Plug-In

1 - Right-click the VSA instance | Properties.

2 - Check to register the plug-in on the vCenter server.

3 - A Commvault Backup tab now appears in the vSphere client.
